Banding birds for study
This morning, 2/11/13, Brad Bumgardner of the Indiana DNR and park interpreter of the Indiana Dunes State Park along with his volunteer Penny, came to band birds for study.Hybrid chicadees were the target bird but they also banded a couple of downey woodpeckers, a tufted titmouse, goldfinch and white-breasted nuthatch. They managed to get 4 chickadees one of which was a hybrid.
